Doppler Phase Guide: Sapphire, Ruby & More

Doppler knives come in different phases, each with unique colors and values. Learn to identify them and understand their worth.

What are Doppler Phases?

Doppler is a knife finish that comes in multiple "phases" - different color patterns. When you unbox a Doppler knife, you get a random phase. Some phases are much rarer and more valuable than others.

All Doppler Phases Explained

Phase 1

Common

Dark purple/black with pink accents. The most common phase along with Phase 3.

Color: Purple/Pink dominant
Value: 1x (Base)

Phase 2

Uncommon

Heavy pink coloring with purple. The most popular phase due to the vibrant pink.

Color: Pink dominant
Value: 1.2-1.5x

Phase 3

Common

Dark green and black with minimal color. Often the cheapest phase.

Color: Green/Black dominant
Value: 0.9-1x

Phase 4

Uncommon

Blue coloring with black. "Max blue" patterns are highly sought after.

Color: Blue dominant
Value: 1.1-1.3x

Black Pearl

Very Rare

Dark iridescent purple/black. Much rarer than standard phases.

Color: Dark purple/black
Value: 3-5x

Ruby

Extremely Rare

Solid blood red color. One of the most valuable Doppler variants.

Color: Solid red
Value: 10-20x

Sapphire

Extremely Rare

Solid deep blue color. The most valuable standard Doppler variant.

Color: Solid blue
Value: 15-25x

Emerald

Gamma Doppler only

Solid green. Only available on Gamma Doppler knives, not standard Doppler.

Color: Solid green

Doppler Trading Tips

Phase 2 is King (for most buyers)

Phase 2 has the most vibrant pink color and is the most popular among players. It commands a premium but isn't as expensive as rare gems.

Phase 4 "Max Blue"

Not all Phase 4s are equal. "Max blue" patterns have more blue coverage and sell for significantly more. Always check the pattern index.

Gamma Doppler Phases

Gamma Doppler is a separate finish with its own phases (1-4) plus Emerald instead of Ruby/Sapphire. Gamma Phase 2 (cyan/green) is particularly popular.

Black Pearl Identification

Black Pearls can be tricky to identify because they look similar to Phase 1 or 3 at first glance. Look for the iridescent purple/black sheen and check the paint seed.
